September 12, Windermere –
Every fall the Windermere Community Association hosts the Fall Fair and Scarecrow Festival.
Events include judged entries of flowers, vegetables, fruit, as well as baking, canning and photography. Craft demonstrations and display booths cover the school ground adjacent to the hall and include blacksmithing, quilting, bent willow furniture making, wood carving, interesting foods and jewelry. This is a family day with lots of events for the kids, such as races, face painting, fish tank, clowns, the Windermere Fire Department, the egg catapult and dog shows.
Great food is served all day long and local musicians keep your feet tapping. The week prior to the Fall Fair, scarecrows pop up everywhere in the community, and add fun and colour.
This year’s fair runs from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, September 12, 2009.
